Connect a TopstepX (ProjectX) account

TopstepX runs on ProjectX, and a number of other prop firms use ProjectX too. Edgeable connects to it directly, so TopstepX accounts can be leaders or followers, and can sit in the same copy group as Tradovate or Rithmic accounts.

Before you start

• Your TopstepX (or other ProjectX) login.
• Whether the accounts you want are live or practice accounts.
• If your firm requires it, API access switched on for your account. Some ProjectX firms need you to enable or buy API access in your account settings before any third-party tool can connect. Check your firm's help centre.

Connect

1. In the Cockpit, open Accounts and choose Connect account, then TopstepX / ProjectX.
2. Choose the environment and whether the connection is Trade or Monitor-only.
3. Continue and sign in to your ProjectX account.
4. Back in Accounts, check that each account you expected is listed.

Things to know

• Check your firm's rules on copying. Firms set their own rules on trade copiers and on copying between accounts. Read your firm's current terms before copying into a funded account.
• Contract limits apply per account. Set a max-contracts cap on each follower that fits its size. See ratios and contract sizing.
• Sessions can expire. If an account shows it needs attention, reconnect it from Accounts.

If the connection fails

The Cockpit shows the reason ProjectX gave. The usual causes are API access not being enabled for the account, or choosing the wrong environment. If neither applies, contact us with the time and the message.
