Every copier quotes a speed number. Very few say what the number counts. A figure that looks fast can be measured from a point that hides most of the delay, and a figure that looks slow can be the honest one. This post explains exactly what Edgeable measures, and what it deliberately does not claim.
What the median actually counts
Edgeable measures translation latency from the moment a leader fill event is received to the moment a follower order is acknowledged by the destination connection. That window is where a copier can add or hide delay, so it is the window we report.
We publish a median rather than an average because a single slow acknowledgement — a broker under load, a follower on a congested link — would drag an average and overstate typical behaviour. The median describes what most orders experience.
Why it is measured per connection
Each account in a copy group runs on its own dedicated 1-to-1 connection rather than a shared pipe. Latency is sampled per connection, so one slow follower does not distort the figure for the rest of the group, and a fast group average cannot mask a follower that is lagging.
This is also why the live copy group view shows per-follower sync status while you trade: the aggregate number is useful for a landing page, but the per-connection view is what matters when you are actually managing accounts.
What the number is not
The observed ~35ms median translation figure describes software behaviour under normal conditions across our supported broker connections. It is not a service-level guarantee, and it says nothing about whether a trade is profitable.
Broker outages, platform-side changes, network conditions and market volatility all affect real results. We frame the number as a measurement with a method behind it, and we keep the full methodology public so the claim can be checked rather than taken on faith.
